Art, activism, and the women’s movement: I am obviously in.
Women in Revolt is an EXTENSIVE exhibition exploring feminist art by over 100 women artists working in the UK. It shines how women used radical ideas and rebellious methods to make a stunning and powerful contribution to British culture. They helped fuel the women’s liberation movement during a period of significant social, economic and political change (1970-1990).
It was amazing to see how the new wave of feminism erupted. Plenty of archival material, art forms, etc. definitely you need a second round to take it all in. Perhaps spreading the archival material and readings across the rooms will help so you don’t get that tired but again…happy to visit it one more time, who wants to join me?
